Hard Conversations with Our Kids

September 23, 6-7:30 p.m.

Ellen Martin, author of “A Life Shared: Meaningful Conversations with Our Kids” leads a workshop for handling the most difficult conversations we may have with the children in our lives. Her thoughtful Biblical perspective will bring comfort and confidence as your tackle the most difficult life conversations. If you have babies, this is preparation. If you have teens, this can help further clarify. If you have elementary aged students, you are in the thick of these questions. If you are a parent, step-parent, foster family, extended family, grandparent, teacher, tutor, youth worker, or coach these truths will sure up your training on conversations with children of all ages.

Missions Day Trip: Love Packages

October 2, 7:15 a.m.-5 p.m.

We have scheduled a day trip to Love Packages in Butler, IL on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Our tasks will be to help sort and package recycled religious materials to be shipped to missionaries. We will leave the church parking lot at 7:15 a.m and will be back by 5:00 p.m. We will need to take our own lunch. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in going. (Invite a friend!)

Join women of all ages as we connect the first Thursday of the month in the Family Life Center. Our September speaker is Jessy McAlexander. Missions Day Trip: Inner City Mission

October 11, 7:45 a.m.-5 p.m.

We have scheduled a day trip to Inner City Mission in Springfield, IL on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Our tasks will include light carpentry, painting, cleaning, etc. As usual, we will take our own lunch, and feed some of the residents. We will leave the church parking lot at 7:45 a.m. and return by 5:00 p.m. Please let Marvin Warner know ASAP if you are interested in going. (Invite a friend!)

 

College Lunch

Join college students and young adults for a meal in the Family Life Center after the 10:45 worship service.

Senior Banquet & Payton Sisters Concert

November 11, Dinner at 5 p.m. & Concert at 6 p.m.

All adults 55+ are invited to a dinner served by the student ministry in the Family Life Center. You must RSVP with the office before November 8 to secure a spot. All are invited to attend a concert in the sanctuary by the Payton Sisters beginning at 6 p.m. with a Love Offering collected.

 

Christmas Eve Services

December 23, 10 a.m. & 4 p.m.

December 24, 4 p.m. & 6 p.m.

Come and celebrate the reason for the season at one of our 4 services on Sunday or Monday before Christmas. All services will be identical with a candlelight service. Mid-week services on December 26 are cancelled.

 

All Church Skate Night

January 13, 5-7 p.m.

Join us for a family fun night at Spin City Skating in Troy, IL. For only $5 per person (including skate rental), you can enjoy 2 hours of skating and all you can eat pizza and soda. All attendees must pay the fee, even if they are not skating because of the refreshments offered. No advance pay, all attendees will pay directly at Spin City the night of the event.
