Online Giving FAQ

Online Giving & Recurring Giving FAQ

Any questions, contact the church office at 618-664-0350.

Q. Are there any fees or costs to give online?

A. Not to you. The full amount that you choose to donate goes to Greenville First Christian Church and is considered a tax-deductible gift. There is a small fee to the church for the processing of credit and debit cards and we work with the company who offers the lowest rates available to non-profit organizations. To use a no-fee giving option please consider setting up the church in your bank accounts bill-pay system. Contact the church office for assistance.

Q. Is my information safe and confidential?

A. Yes — Online giving is actually less risky than handwritten checks. An online transaction cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed. Your confidential information using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). When you give, the church does NOT see private information like your debit card or bank account number. To learn more about the merchant account gateway visit: https://www.mywell.org/

Q. How do I know my donation made it to the church?

A. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after you complete your donation. If you have questions at any time contact the church office at 618-664-0350.

Q. How is my contribution documented?

A. The bookkeeper is the only person who will receive an email notice each time a contribution is made online. Using the address information you provide, your contribution will be recorded for the church records. Your online giving will also be added to your year-end contribution statement.

Q. Can I designate how my donation is used?

A. Yes — After you fill in your payment information, click on the “+ Additional Fund”. This will allow you to select “Church Offering” or other accounts depending on which area you would like to contribute.

Q. Why do you ask me for my address and other information?

A. This information is needed to confirm the funds you are donating are associated to the correct profile. It also is the information that the church needs to make sure that your year-end contribution statement is mailed to you for tax purposes.

Q. Can I use a credit card to give online?

A. When using the online giving system, you are asked to enter your credit card/ debit card information. The use of a DEBIT card attached to a checking account instead of the use of credit cards is strongly advised. If you choose to give with a credit card, we encourage you to remain financially responsible by not accruing any debt and by paying off your credit card statement on a monthly basis.
